What lies along your GPX route
Upload a GPX route and the explorer searches a corridor around it, then lists everything worth knowing about before you set off. It reads routes exported from Mapy.cz, Strava, Garmin, Komoot and most GPS devices. Free, no sign-up, and the file is not kept on the server.
Water sources along the route
Find springs and drinking water along the way, each with its distance from the start, so you know where you can refill and how far you have to carry a full bottle.
Mountain huts, bivouacs and shelters
See mountain huts, wilderness huts, bivouacs and emergency shelters near the route — the basis for deciding where to break a multi-day trek or where to escape bad weather.
Peaks, viewpoints and via ferratas
Summits with their elevation, viewpoints, and via ferratas including their difficulty grade. Ferratas are drawn on the map as a line, not just a point.
Avalanche forecast and protected areas
The route summary shows which EAWS avalanche regions the route crosses, together with the danger level for the day you pick. It also lists national parks and protected areas, including how many kilometres you spend inside each.

How do I find water sources along a hiking route?
Upload the GPX route and pick the springs and drinking water categories. The explorer lists every source in the corridor around your route with its distance from the start, and you can export the selection back to GPX as waypoints.
Can I find mountain huts along my route?
Yes. The explorer finds mountain huts, wilderness huts, bivouacs and shelters near the route, so you can plan overnight stops for a multi-day trek.
What file do I need?
A GPX file with a recorded or planned track. Mapy.cz, Strava, Garmin, Komoot, Suunto and most GPS devices can export one. You can also plan a route here and hand it straight over to the explorer.
How wide is the search corridor?
You choose it, from 100 m to 5 km around the route. A narrow radius keeps only what you pass directly; a wider one also finds a hut or spring worth a short detour.
Which areas are covered?
The places database covers the European region and is densest across the Alps. Data comes from OpenStreetMap, Refuges.info, CampToCamp and Wikidata.
Can I export what it finds?
Yes. Tick the places you care about and export them as a GPX file with waypoints, ready for a watch, a GPS unit or another app.
