Everything you need

From gear management through templates to packing tracking — all in one place.

Gear management

Add weights to your items and the app calculates how much you'll carry on your back — in total, by category and by bag. You'll see straight away what weighs your pack down most.

Trip templates

Create templates for different trip types. A weekend trek, an expedition or a bike trip — start a trip with one click.

Packing tracking

Mark items as packed and track your progress. A progress bar shows you how much is left.

Trip planning

Create trips with a date, notes and a custom icon. For each one, decide what you're taking, considering or leaving at home — including quantities and a running backpack weight.

Share with your group

Send your companions a link and plan the trip together. You decide who can edit the gear and who just ticks off what they have packed — everyone packs their own.

Custom and preset

Start with a ready-made gear list. Add your own, adopt and customize presets to your needs, and hide what you don't need.

New: AI assistant

Describe your trip in a sentence. The assistant does the rest.

Connect TrailPack to Claude or another AI assistant and plan just by talking. The assistant knows the terrain too, so it suggests a route and what to take on it.

You write

“I want to walk the Dachstein traverse in mid-September, two days, sleeping at a hut. Plan the route, tell me what I will pass, and put together the gear — including anything the terrain calls for.”

You get

  • A planned route with distance, ascent and difficulty — and a link into the planner
  • Gear the terrain called for — the route crosses a glacier, so crampons and an ice axe
  • Your pack weight calculated and split into “taking” and “considering”

Then you just refine it by talking: “add poles”, “skip the tent”. Every change lands in the app straight away.

Terrain exploration

Get to know the route before your trip

Plan a route on the map, or explore the one you already have as a GPX file.

GPX route explorer

Upload a GPX file from your navigation device or planner and find out what awaits along the route — huts, springs, peaks, via ferratas and dozens of other points of interest.

  • Automatic search for POIs along the route within the chosen radius
  • Elevation profile with an interactive cursor on the map
  • Protected areas and avalanches — what the route passes through, incl. the avalanche danger level
  • Export of selected POIs to GPX for navigation

Route planner

Click a route together on a topographic map with more than 9.8 million points of interest and 300,000 hiking routes. The route follows real trails on its own.

  • Distance, ascent, difficulty — plus a walking-time estimate for every leg
  • Marked trails and via ferratas — choose whether the route sticks to the blazes or takes the shortest way
  • Huts, springs, peaks with a photo and Wikipedia, layers for protected areas, glaciers and avalanches
  • Export to GPX or explore the route straight away — so you know what you will pass

Sign-in and your privacy

You sign in with Google or Apple. Here is exactly what that means.

What data do you get from Google or Apple?

From Google, your name, e-mail and profile photo. From Apple, your name and e-mail — with Apple you can keep your e-mail hidden, then we only get a relay address and Apple does not provide a photo. Nothing more is transferred.

Do you have access to my Gmail, contacts or calendar?

No. We only ask for basic sign-in details (name, e-mail, photo). We have no access to Gmail, contacts, calendar, Drive or anything else, nor can we.

What do you do with my data?

It is used only for signing in and showing your profile (name and photo in the app). Your gear and trips are yours alone — we never sell or share them.

How do I revoke access?

Any time in your Google account (Google Account → Security → Third-party apps) or in your Apple ID (Settings → Sign in with Apple).
